ADVANTAGES:

  • Best way to conserve your naturally infected teeth whenever possible by

performing RCT.

  • Single visit RCT is time saving.
  • It’s a painless procedure done under L.A.

ENDODONTIC RETREATMENT( RE-RCT):

Even a tooth that has received full endodontic treatment in the past may fail to heal or you may continue to experience some pain.

  • Retreatment may be needed when canals were not treated properly during the initial treatment;

 Retreatment may be required  when: canals  were not treated properly during prior treatment ,if any canal was  missed during the initial treatment; post obturation and crown was not done in proper period of time or if leaky restoration did not prevent saliva from contaminating the inside of the tooth.

What is post and core-

Post and core is a restoration which is used to restore an extensively decayed or fractured tooth. Post and core consist of a pin like post which is cemented in the root portion of the tooth and over it core build up is done with a suitable filling material, then a crown is placed over post and core.

When post is placed-

When the tooth is decayed and it has to be restored the dentist goes for the filling but sometimes the decay is extensive and a large part of the tooth is lost. In such cases pins and posts are used as the simple filling material can not give the adequate strength to bear the masticatory forces.
